- CENTERS FOR MEDICARE AND MEDICAID SERVICES (CMS) ANNOUNCE
AWARDS FOR ENTERPRISE SYSTEM DEVELOPMENT
10.10.2007, Bethesda, MD, USA –
Argosy Omnimedia, Inc. (North Bethesda, MD) has announced a
federal subcontact award as an IBM team member for CMS
Enterprise System Development (ESD) contract
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid
Services (CMS) has awarded the $4 billion Enterprise Systems
Development (ESD) contract. Argosy is a Small Business
partner on IBM’s ESD contract. IBM is one of 16 prime
contractors selected by CMS after a rigorous and
comprehensive competitive procurement.
Argosy has been an e-Business,
Healthcare and Life Sciences Business Partner of IBM since
2001. Argosy was selected by IBM based on Argosy's depth and
breadth of experience in healthcare information security and
e-Business development.
CMS will use the contract to acquire
information technology over the next 10 years as the agency
modernizes Medicare and Medicaid services and attempts to
improve health care quality and reduce costs. The ESD
Service Model covers systems development and integration,
system and application engineering and technical support to
improve the automated systems and agencywide applications of
the Health and Human Services Department. With the
development of its Enterprise Data Centers and a Common
Enterprise Infrastructure, CMS wants a common approach to
system and software development and a contracting vehicle
that provides for these services. The contract supports CMS’
Integrated IT Investment and System Life Cycle Framework, a
uniform approach for IT systems development and the CMS IT
Modernization Program and initiatives. Argosy’s continued
work with CMS as a Small Business subcontractor enables
Argosy to bring a unique information security and e-Business
development perspective to the Medicare Administrative
Contractor community.
