Argosy Omnimedia, Inc’s
AgentProxy.com site is a licensable product that
embodies Argosy’s expertise in the design and development of
programmable agents for e-Business applications.
Argosy recognized in early 1999 that, for a Buyer, the process of
placing a bid on an item at a consumer auction site like eBay was
extremely tedious and virtually impossible to win for items that were in
high demand.
AgentProxy is a bid automation service for Buyer/Bidders who use
consumer oriented auction sites such as Ebay, Yahoo, Amazon or Ubid
auction sites. AgentProxy has automated the Buyer Side interaction and
transaction processing of these sites in order to empower the Buyer with
automation tools, agents and proxy services that "balance the online
auction playing field" which has historically favored the Seller with
Seller Side automation tools.
AgentProxy automates the bidding of the Buyer by allowing the Buyer
to search multiple auction sites for an item through one screen,
pre-program their maximum price that they would bid for one or more
items, and even aggregate multiple bids into what is known as a
"cascade" in order to increase the probability that a Buyer gets one of
the items at the lowest possible price.
Once the Buyer has setup the bidding parameters, their
AgentProxy
agent monitors the progress of the auction, notifies them via email and
pager if the price exceeds their maximum and then "battles" with other
bidders and house proxies (eBay and others auction sites have a similar
feature that exposes the maximum bids to challenges earlier in the
auction cycle) in order to win the bid in the final seconds of the
auction. |
